Roaring Twenties

Chris and I went to the Marquette School Dinner Dance with the Roaring Twenties theme and had a blast! They have a silent auction, live auction, dinner and dj and everyone really got into the spirit dressing up! This is such a fun group of people!
Sue, Alyson and Tara

Thanks to a you-tube video, I was able to put pin curls in my hair for true 1920's style. I had the laptop in the bathroom with me. A few people even thought I had cut my hair!

Chris in jail with a few ladies. Should've purchased a get out of jail free card! Although, he didn't seem to mind it as long as he had a beer in hand. Thanks to his mother-in-law, he wasn't in there long!

Casual Friday

Happy to stay in pj's all day!
Spiderman (or one of the Power Rangers, or Batman, or Anakin Skywalker, or a clone trooper, etc.) is always here to save the day! Peyton says to me daily, "I will get the bad guys for you, Mom!" How lucky am I?

Showing off his cute smile!

Easter morning

Too cool!
Colty Bear

Can you guess what the Easter bunny brought in their baskets? (Hint: footwear)

Logan is almost ready for church! If only he would get dressed! How handsome is that little Robert Redford look!

Caleb and his crooked winking smile

Peytie Pie

Colton sharing one of our many Easter eggs!

The Last Winter Hurrah!

Still enough snow for one more good day of sliding! One week after we were there, the hill was all grass.
Look out below!
Caleb and a couple of his buddies

Peyton pretending to eat a "snow cookie"

Colton didn't get to go sledding, but he still got a chance to "enjoy" the snow one last time.

Goodbye Hockey Hair!

Four boys just chillin'
Yes, how cute is he with that long hair! Looks are deceiving, especially since Auntie Britt was the one to actually wet it down and comb it so nicely before his haircut. Too bad she wasn't here every morning before school!

How handsome and so ready for baseball! No more hockey hair!

Birthday and a Blizzard

Logan turned 6! Hard to believe! Like any 6 yr. old, he had a hard time waiting to open his gifts! (The crown was from his teacher at school.)
Logan wanted gyros for supper and yellow cake with chocolate frosting for his birthday!

He got all of the candles!

So much for April showers!

Potty time!

Here we go again!
Have you ever seen a cuter underwear model?

Let's Go Swimming!

The 4 boys enjoying a little pool time at the Americinn near by--they have a big twisty slide into the big pool and little froggy slide into the kiddie pool.
Logan swallowed up by the frog.

Peyton didn't care for sliding down, but kept climbing up and peeking through.

Even Colton enjoyed the kiddie pool. Perfect when it's only 6-9 inches deep.

Here Comes Trouble #4!

He may look sweet and innocent but you can just see the mischief behind those eyes.
He has finally decided that he likes walking better than crawling and is mastering it nicely!

At times even attempting to run!

Here he is taking apart the pantry cupboard. I figure it entertains him for moments at a time while I accomplish a task without an extra appendage.

Oh yes, and our little wiggle worm can squeeze himself out of his strap in his highchair. Not at all a hazard! If I strap it any tighter, he won't be able to breathe. Doesn't he look so proud of himself?!

Goodbye Nuks! (Hello Crabby Boy!)

Peyton said goodbye to his nuks today (Thursday, Feb. 5th). We tied them up with a bow for the angel to come and take to heaven so that they could be given to a new baby! He was so brave and proud! Until bedtime! It has been a couple of late nights since then and some days with no naps! Wish us luck!
Here he is putting them in the mailbox!

And Then the Lights Went Out!

Colton is enjoying the beautiful sunny day outside while his big brothers skate on the lake. Please note the crystal clear blue sky.
Logan worked on his hockey moves while the dark clouds quickly move in...

Within about 20 minutes it was dark and windy, but still "warm" in the high 20's. Caleb did not want to come in even though it was time for supper. We had a nice evening playing games and the Wii when the lights flickered once, twice and by the time we got to the top of the basement stairs--they went out! Ooooh, spooky. Peyton did NOT like it at all. We lit some candles and waited a bit. Our gas fireplace wouldn't even stay on possibly due to the strong wind? We said a prayer for safety and warmth. Then, we introduced the boys to charades by candlelight. It really did end up being a fun family evening. But, although the temps were warm, the wind was wicked and it started getting a little cool as we don't have heat when we don't have power. We set up a little slumber party in our room. The boys slept great! Us, not so much. The wind was a' howlin!

By morning, the living room was 56 degrees and the kitchen/back porch was 47 (yes, inside)! Brrrr! We had a picnic breakfast on the living room floor of Vanilla wafers and water. (Didn't want to open the fridge.) Although, nothing would've warmed up in the house anyway.

Hats, jackets, and blankets. Dad had to go down the road to surmise the situation (or as mom says, BS with the neighbors). He did discover that a small tree was resting on the power lines at the neighbors' house. Aha! Now, the question of when someone would come to take care of it.

Colton enjoyed eating on the floor! Keep the crumbs on the blanket!

Caleb staying cozy in his warm blanket! Once dad finally got home, we packed up to go to Grandma and Bumpa's to shower and we made it to church. We then got a message from our neighbor that the power was indeed restored and by the time we got home later that evening, it was toasty warm!

Catholic Schools Week of Fun!

Caleb chose Ben Franklin to study and portray in the 2nd grade wax museum. Although he was a constantly moving wax statue. Thank goodness for Grandma Jeanie and her creative sewing! I don't know what I would've done!
Caleb skating--the whole school (in shifts) got to go

Logan too! He had a blast skating without a helmet (?) but was wishing he had been able to wear his elbow pads as that hit the ice once. That's what you get for learning to skate wearing hockey pads, I guess.

2nd graders snowshoeing at the Park--they all had a blast!

Logan did great with his Kindergarten class.
