Colton is enjoying the beautiful sunny day outside while his big brothers skate on the lake. Please note the crystal clear blue sky.

Logan worked on his hockey moves while the dark clouds quickly move in...

Within about 20 minutes it was dark and windy, but still "warm" in the high 20's. Caleb did not want to come in even though it was time for supper. We had a nice evening playing games and the Wii when the lights flickered once, twice and by the time we got to the top of the basement stairs--they went out! Ooooh, spooky. Peyton did NOT like it at all. We lit some candles and waited a bit. Our gas fireplace wouldn't even stay on possibly due to the strong wind? We said a prayer for safety and warmth. Then, we introduced the boys to charades by candlelight. It really did end up being a fun family evening. But, although the temps were warm, the wind was wicked and it started getting a little cool as we don't have heat when we don't have power. We set up a little slumber party in our room. The boys slept great! Us, not so much. The wind was a' howlin!

By morning, the living room was 56 degrees and the kitchen/back porch was 47 (yes, inside)! Brrrr! We had a picnic breakfast on the living room floor of Vanilla wafers and water. (Didn't want to open the fridge.) Although, nothing would've warmed up in the house anyway.

Hats, jackets, and blankets. Dad had to go down the road to surmise the situation (or as mom says, BS with the neighbors). He did discover that a small tree was resting on the power lines at the neighbors' house. Aha! Now, the question of when someone would come to take care of it.

Colton enjoyed eating on the floor! Keep the crumbs on the blanket!

Caleb staying cozy in his warm blanket! Once dad finally got home, we packed up to go to Grandma and Bumpa's to shower and we made it to church. We then got a message from our neighbor that the power was indeed restored and by the time we got home later that evening, it was toasty warm!
